NORMAN, Okla. – Second and third team PING All-America selections for the NAIA have been announced by the GCAA. Sam Cyr of Point Loma, Dusty Drenth of St. Ambrose, Victoria’s Mitchell Evanecz, Oklahoma Christian’s Fernando Gonzales and Oscar Stark, Wayland Baptist’s Michael Loppnow, Justin Lower of Malone, Oklahoma City’s Anthony Michael, Cory Renfrew of British Columbia and Berry’s Samuel del Val were previously named to the PING All-America First Team.

USCB Baseball coach, Rick Sofield has announced his first six recruits who will join the Sand Sharks for the 2010 season. “Our focus in recruiting is to make our club better by adding depth and quality in both our pitching staff and in the middle infield,” said Sofield. He added “We wanted to get guys who will give us a greater competitive environment every day in practice and during our season.”

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL—Marshall Meyer the lone Sand Shark to compete at the 58th Annual Men’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championships completed his first marathon, finishing in 18th place with a time of 2:46:29.00 for the 26 mile course.

SILVIS, ILL—The University of South Carolina Beaufort men’s golf team finished seventh at the NAIA National Championships. The team carded a four round total of 1212, +76 over the par (297, 312, 300, 303). The champions, Oklahoma Christian finished with an 1181, +45 for the four day tournament. The Sand Sharks finished seven places ahead of Savannah College of Art and Design, the only other Sun Conference team in the final round.

SILVIS, ILL—The University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks improved their overall standings by two places today (Thursday) at the TPC Deer Run Golf Course at the NAIA National Championship. The Sand Sharks were in ninth place after the second round, but quickly picked up two spaces by shooting a team score of 300 during today’s third round, finishing seventh through three rounds.

SILVIS, ILL—The University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks fell to ninth in round two of the Men’s Golf National Championships at the TPC Deer Run Golf Course in Silvis, Ill. With a second round score of 312 and a first round score of 297, the Sand Sharks sit with a total score of 609, 20 shots behind leader Oklahoma Christian.

SILVIS, IL--The tough competition and even tougher course and conditions, have made this first round critical for the Sand Sharks who got out to an early lead finishing in third place of the morning group and holding their third place spot through the day. The Sand Sharks, who are the first team in the history of USCB athletics to make the Nationals finished with a team total of 279 (+13) good enough to hold them tied for third place, just behind Oklahoma Christian (291 +7), Malone (293 +9), and tied with Oklahoma Baptist University (297 +13).

SILVIS, IL-- The Sand Sharks Men's Golf Team has made it, their goal of reaching the National Championships are complete, but now what?  Well.... WIN of course, and thats just what the Sand Sharks have planed. After finishing the Spring season a little defeated at the Confernce Championships, the Sand Sharks dreams were kept alive thanks to their overall performance this season finishing 10th overall Nationally, earning them a berth to the National Championship. 

Five USCB golfers qualified last week for their spot of the road to a national title, they include Chris Lane, Jack Bingham, Reed Howard, Jon Pannone, and George Thacker. The golfers wanted to keep Sand Sharks fans in the loop with thier experiences, so they have decided to write about them, the following is the first update written by junior Jon Pannone.....
