University of South Carolina Beaufort’s Head Baseball Coach, Rick Sofield has released the 2009 schedule as the Sand Sharks begin their first ever season. The first game will be a doubleheader at home on Saturday, January 31st against Southern Wesleyan University. The first pitch is scheduled for noon.

Not only will USCB be competing in their first Sun Conference championship this fall, but will be hosting as well. Sun Conference (formerly Florida Sun) Commissioner Rob Miller made the announcement last week that the 2008 Sun Conference Cross Country Championships will be held November 8 at Sgt. Jasper Park and will be hosted be USCB. In addition, the Sand Sharks will sponsor the Second Annual Sand Shark Invitational on October 25 also at Sgt. Jasper Park. The winning men’s and women’s teams and top individuals will represent the conference at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships on November 22nd at Kenosha, Wisconsin.
