MARSALL MEYER FINSIHED IN 11TH PLACE AT THE SAND SHARKS OPENING MEET ON FRIDAY

COLUMBIA, SC-The USCB men’s and women’s cross country team opened their 2010 season on Friday night at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Both teams ran the same five kilometer course which consisted of three identical loops on the parade grounds at Ft. Jackson. The Sand Shark men were defeated by rival SCAD by ten points 25-35 in the NAIA results. Voorhees was third. The USCB women finished in third place behind SCAD and USC Aiken.

KATIE MOCK RETURNS FOR HER FOURTH CROSS COUNTRY SEASON
9.2.2010 | Women's Cross Country, Men's Cross Country
BLUFFTON, SC-As a freshman in 2007, Katie Mock was one of three USCB student athletes on the school’s first ever cross country team. Now a senior, she will lead the Sand Shark harriers as they travel to Columbia for the Gamecock Invitational on Friday night. The men will toe the line first at 6:30 and the women will follow at 7:00. Both races will be five kilometers.

VANCOVER, WA- The University of South Carolina Beaufort competed at the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships in Fort Vancouver Washington. Each race consisted of approximately 32 teams and over 320 individuals.

BLUFFTON, SC- Four members of the USCB cross country team will leave for Vancouver, Washington on Thursday for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.  Junior Katie Mock and sophomores Frank Tinsley, Nic Tones, and Stephen Wilson will all compete against some of the best runners in the country on Saturday on a 5000 meter course for women and an 8000 meter distance for the men at the Ft Vancouver National Historic Site located just across the Columbia River from Portland, OR.

BABSON PARK, FL- The University of South Carolina Beaufort XC team qualified four runners, three men and one woman for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships, to be held in two weeks in Vancouver Washington. The Sand Shark women, led by Katie Mock, finished fourth overall, behind conference rivals Embry-Riddle, Savannah College of Art and Design and Warner University.

LOUISVILLE, KY- The University of  South Carolina Beaufort Lady Sand Sharks Cross Country team competed on Saturday at the Southeast Class at the EP Tom Sawyer park in Louisville Kentucky,  finishing 17th out of a field of 22 teams. Katie Mock and Selena Hutson finished close together with times 21:04 and 21:05 of respectively good for 58th and 59th places.

HARDEEVILLE, SC-The USCB men's cross country team defeated Armstrong Atlantic in a dual meet on Wednesday at Jasper Park in Hardeeville by a score of 22-33.  Despite resting their top six runners, the Sand Sharks relied on three first year students and two sophomores to the secure the win.
