Sand Shark Golfers Fall to 9th at Nationals
Thacker still leading Sand Sharks

SILVIS, ILL—The University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks fell to ninth in round two of the Men’s Golf National Championships at the TPC Deer Run Golf Course in Silvis, Ill. With a second round score of 312 and a first round score of 297, the Sand Sharks sit with a total score of 609, 20 shots behind leader Oklahoma Christian.
In the lead for the Sand Sharks is George Thacker finishing six over par today making his two day total 148 (71+77) good enough for eleventh place. The next Sand Shark to finish is Jon Pannone with a 77 finishing twenty-ninth with a two day total of 152 (75+77). Chris Lane was the third Sand Shark to finish with a two day total of 153 (74+79) followed by Reed Howard who shot a 79 in round two (77+79=156). The final Sand Shark to finish was Jack Bingham who improved by three shots finishing with an 81 (84+81=165).
Thursday's round will tee off at 7 a.m. with the field being cut to the top 17 teams and 40 individuals, including ties, after the completion of the third round. The four-round tournament will wrap up Friday.
