Sand Sharks Move up to Seventh at Nationals

SILVIS, ILL—The University of South Carolina Beaufort Sand Sharks improved their overall standings by two places today (Thursday) at the TPC Deer Run Golf Course at the NAIA National Championship. The Sand Sharks were in ninth place after the second round, but quickly picked up two spaces by shooting a team score of 300 during today’s third round, finishing seventh through three rounds.
The team currently has a three day total of 909 (297+312+300). Oklahoma Christian the current leader has a three day total of 882.
George Thacker is the first Sand Shark to finish at +5, 76 for the day making his total a 224 (71+77+76). Chris Lane is the second leader for the Sand Sharks finishing a +3 for the day +14 overall (74+79+74=227). Reed Howard finished today at +4 and an overall score of 231 (77+79+75). Jon Pannone finished +9 for the day, +19 overall (75+77+80=232). Jack Bingham was the last to score for the Sand Sharks who had his best round finishing with a 75, +4 for the day, (84+81+75=240).
The Sand Sharks will play their fourth and final round tomorrow (Firday).
