HILTON HEAD, SC- Sophomore
Marshall Meyer improved his NAIA National qualifying time for the Half Marathon by running away from a field of over 400 racers on Saturday at the Hilton Head Half Marathon. Meyer's winning time of 1:14:21 was a 34 second improvement over his time of 1:14:55 run in December at the Jacksonville, (FL) Half Marathon.
“Marshall is in great shape now and very easily could have run much faster,” said coach
Larry Kimball, adding “He went into this race just wanting to run a tempo run, but once he got out there, he just began clicking off 5:45 miles like clockwork.”
Meyer is qualified to run the NAIA National Marathon in May in Indiana. He was 18th at the national event a year ago.
The rest of the USCB track team will open their season on February 27th at Savannah State.
