MIAMI, FL-Florida Memorial took the first game of the three game Sun Conference series over USCB by a 5-4 count. The Sand Sharks had a 4-0 lead early in the game before Florida Memorial came back and eventually scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for the victory on a two run single by Joel Pirez with the bases loaded to win the game.
Adam Miller was the starting pitcher for the Sand Sharks going the first six innings allowing two runs on seven hits. USCB's
Kyle McCullough gave up three runs in the final 2 1/3 innings and was charged with the loss.
Larry Perry and Gabe Torres each picked up two hits apiece for USCB as they will attempt to rebound at noon on Saturday playing the final two games as part of a doubleheader. The Sand Sharks now stand at 24-10 over-all and 9-6 in the Sun Conference.
