CENTRAL, SC-The USCB Sand Shark baseball team traveled to Central, SC on Tuesday and scored an easy 16-1 win against Southern Wesleyan. The Sand Sharks belted out 18 hits in the seven inning contest to run their record to 27-10 on the year.
USCB scored in every inning including five runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach early.
Spencer Jackson continued his torrid hitting streak from the lead-off position with four base hits. Larry Perry also got four hits in four official plate appearances.
TJ Kemp contributed two hits including his third home run of the year.
David O'Neil and
Jeremy Webb also chipped in with two hits apiece.
Jared Campbell was the starting hurler for the Sand Sharks going four scoreless inning two pick up this third win on the season.
The Sand Sharks received 43 votes in the latest NAIA poll released on Tuesday and sit in the top 35 in the national rankings. They return to Sun Conference action on Friday as they will play Edward Waters in a 4:00 game at the Richard Gray Baseball Complex in Hardeeville. That series will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday.
