LEBARON NAMED REGION COACH OF THE YEAR

BLUFFTON-USCB Director of Golf Shane LeBaron has been named the Eaton/Golf Pride NAIA South Region Men’s Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America. LeBaron was one of four coaches throughout the United States to receive an all region honor. The National Coach of the Year went to Kyle Blaser, the head coach of the NAIA national champion team from Oklahoma City.
Coach LeBaron, in just two seasons, has led the Sand Sharks men’s team to seventh place national finish in 2009 and this past May, USCB earned a fourth place finish at the NAIA National Tournament. He was named USCB’s Director of Golf in July. Former Sand Shark women’s coach, Chris Cuneo will take over the men’s program while Emily Kuhfeld has been named the head women’s coach.
The USCB men will open their four tournament fall season on September 5th through the 7th as they take part in the USC Aiken Tournament at Kiawah Island, SC.
