Five University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball players have been selected to play in their summer leagues' All-Star games.
Senior first baseman Erik Armstrong (Strasburg Express/Valley Baseball League), senior pitcher Ben Sauls (Litchfield Dolphins/Beach Collegiate Baseball League), senior outfielder Blake Cilwick (Carolina Forest Crawdads/Beach Collegiate Baseball League), junior shortstop Ashly Morris (Catawba Valley Stars/Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League) and senior pitcher C.J. Kelly (Orlando Monarchs/Florida Collegiate Summer League) all made their respective All-Star rosters.
Armstrong, who was hitting .263 with four home runs and 16 RBIs through Monday, played in the Valley Baseball League All-Star Game on Sunday.
Sauls and Cilwick played in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game on Monday after leading their teams to strong first-half performances.
Sauls is 2-0 with a 1.91 ERA in 28 1/3 innings over six appearances, and he has struck out 33.
Cilwick is batting .309 with three home runs, six RBIs, 19 runs scored and a league-leading 15 stolen bases. He has a .473 on-base percentage.
Kelly, who is 1-0 with one save and a 4.40 ERA in 16 1/3 innings over seven appearances, was slated to play in the Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game on Tuesday.
Morris is scheduled to play in the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League All-Star Game on Thursday. He is batting .294 with a .342 on-base percentage and five doubles and six RBIs.
