Head Coach

A long time cross country and track coach in the state of Vermont, Larry Kimball moved to Bluffton in the  spring of 2006 and began work as the Assistant Athletics Director at USCB during that summer.

Kimball was the Head Women's Cross Country coach at St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT from 2001 to 2005.  During that tenure, he coached both numerous Notheast Ten Conference All-Conference performers as well as Academic All-Conference performers.  During his five years at St. Michael's, his teams had the highest grade point average of all the athletics teams there each year.

While serving as the distance coach at the University of Vermont from 1990 to 1998, Kimball helped lead the Catamounts to four conference team runner-up finishes, coached three NCAA Division I individual qualifiers, and numerous individual New England and America East Conference champions. 

Prior to his coaching stint at Vermont, he coached the boy's team at Burlington High School and the girl's team at BFA-Fairfax to Vermont State Championships.

In addition to his coaching resume, Kimball served as Co-Race Director of the Stowe (VT) 8- Mile Road Race for 18 years which brought in Olympic medalists and over two dozen United States Olympic team members.  He has been on the Executive Committee of the Key Bank Vermont City Marathon since 1989 and was an Executive Committee Member for the Women's Cross-Country Coaches Association from 1992-97.

As an athlete, Kimball has competed in over 40 marathons throughout the country as a member of the Green Mountain Athletic Association and as a college athlete competed for Carson-Newman College.

He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Trinity College (VT) and Masters of Science in Administration from St. Michael's College.  Kimball retired from Verizon in 2003 and he and his wife, Ruth live in Sun City.  He is the father of two daughters and has two grandsons.
